Taco Haystacks with meat sauce

Description

Taco haystacks are a fun and versatile meal. It can be easily customized to your individual taste and is a favorite among kids and adults.

Ingredients
    Basic Layer
  • 14 oz corn chips or Doritos
  • 3 14 oz cans of beans (pinto, red, or black)
  • 2 cup shredded cheese (vegan options)
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/2 onion (chopped)
  • 4 cup lettuce, shredded
  • sour cream
  • ranch dressing
  • Meat Sauce
  • 1 8 oz package Morning Star Farms Original Sausages
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce, 24 oz
  • 1 can Bush's Grillin Beans
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp basil, dried
  • 1 tbsp oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp onion powder
Instructions
    Basic Layer
  1. Rinse and drain the beans. Add to a pot and cook on medium heat until warmed, about 6 or 7 minutes.

  2. Chop tomato and onion.

  3. On a plate, layer chips, beans, cheese, onions, tomatoes, and sour cream or ranch. Serve and enjoy!

    Add additional toppings and customize to your liking.
  4. Meat sauce
  5. Thaw package of Morningstar sausage patties.

    Thaws well in the microwave or leave in the refrigerator a few hours before cooking.
  6. Add oil to a saucepan and saute garlic and patties for about 1 minute. 

  7. Add seasonings and cook, stirring continuously, until meat browns.

  8. Add spaghetti sauce and stir to combine. Let simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.

  9. Add Grillin Beans and stir to combine. Let simmer an additional 2 to 3 minutes.

  10. Serve over chips in place of bean and add additional toppings. Enjoy!
