This cinnamon apple syrup is free of refined sugar and loaded with flavor. It's easy to whip up when needed and can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks. And it goes well with my Nutty Crispy Oatmeal Waffles.

Description

Every pancake and waffle needs the option of being topped with this cinnamon apple syrup. It's refined sugar-free yet loaded with yummy sweetness.

Ingredients
  • 2 medium apples (sliced)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons water (or as needed)
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pecans
Instructions
  1. Peel, core, and slice apples.

  2. In a saucepan, combine the apples, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, pecans, and water. Stir to combine.

  3. Over medium heat, cook, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft, about 10 minutes. Add more water if needed to keep the apples from sticking.

  4. Serve warm over crispy oatmeal waffles or pancakes. Store extra in fridge for up to two weeks.
